Q. Why can't I pair my phone to my UA Scale™?
A. If you are having trouble pairing your phone to your UA Scale, first check if you've enabled Bluetooth® on your phone. Additionally, do the following:
- Check if your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE.
- Check if there are other phones currently connected to your UA Scale.
Q. Why does my iPhone keep disconnecting from my UA Scale?
A. Your phone connects to UA Scale via Bluetooth®. Make sure your scale is within normal Bluetooth® range of your phone. Also note that the scale connects to Wi-Fi® during the weighing process, and cannot simultaneously connect to your phone. If these conditions are met and your iPhone will not maintain a connection to your UA Scale, please check the version of iOS on your device. Your iPhone must have iOS 8.4 or later for compatibility with UA Scale.
Q. Why can't I connect to my Wi-Fi network?
A. Your Wi-Fi® router must support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. Other Wi-Fi protocols are not supported. Additionally, do the following:
- Check if your Wi-Fi router requires a security certificate or has page logging set up. If it does, your UA Scale will not be able to connect to it.
- Check if your UA Scale is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Check if there are any other wireless devices that operate in the 2.4 GHz range. Such devices could be interfering with your Wi-Fi signal.
Q. Why does nothing happen when I touch the LED icons?
A. The icons are not touch sensitive. They are for indicating what action is possible with your UA Scale.
Q. Why are some of the icons not showing?
A. Up to two icons will show at any given time. The icons show what can be done by tapping the left and right foot pads.
Q. How do I know when to replace the batteries?
A. After weighing in, your UA Scale will show a blinking low battery animation to get your attention. You don't have to replace the batteries immediately when you see the low battery animation. However, if you see the low battery animation immediately after turning on your UA Scale, that indicates that the battery level is critically low. In this case, you'll need to replace the batteries to keep using your UA Scale.
Q. Why does my body fat value vary throughout the day?
A. A person's measured body fat can be affected by several factors including: exercise, water intake, posture, consumption of food, or footwear. The recommended way to measure body fat is to follow a strict set of conditions. For example, with bare feet, measure your body fat every morning at 6:00 AM before drinking your first cup of water. If your UA Scale has been moved, give it five minutes for its sensors to stabilize before using.
Q. Why am I getting different weight results?
A. Make sure your UA Scale is placed directly on solid and level ground. Avoid placing the scale on carpet or any soft material. Also, make sure you give your UA Scale time to recalibrate if you've moved or reset it. Every time the scale is moved or repositioned, the first few readings will be high because the scale must re-calibrate to the new surface. After it calibrates, the scale has been tested at an accuracy of at least 99% of true weight for each measurement.
Q. How do I turn off my UA Scale?
A. Your UA Scale will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity.
Q.How can I change the language on the scale’s display?
A. You can change the scale's language within UA Record™ app as follows:
- Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is on, and you are near your UA Scale.
- Firmly tap or step on the scale to turn it on. Wait for the display to activate.
- In the UA Record app, tap the Sync icon in the top right corner.
- Tap your UA Scale, and wait for the app and the scale to connect.
- Scroll down and tap “Language.” Select your preferred language from the list of options.
Q. Why doesn't my UA Scale weigh me?
A. Your UA Scale must have at least one profile set up in order for the weighing feature to be available.
Q. How many profiles can my UA Scale remember?
A. Your UA Scale can remember up to eight profiles.
Q. Why doesn't my UA Scale recognize me?
A. If your weight is similar to another user's weight, then your UA Scale may not recognize you. To make sure your weight is synced with your UA Record account, use the scale's interface to select your profile before you weigh in.
Q. Why are none of my results showing up in my UA Record account?
A. Your UA Scale may not be syncing with your UA Record account if your UA Scale has no Internet connection. Make sure your UA Scale is within range of a Wi-Fi router that supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.
If you connected your UA Scale to a Wi-Fi network that requires a security certificate, then your UA Scale won't be able to access the network.
Q. Why can't my phone connect to my UA Scale when I am weighing myself?
A. Although your UA Scale can connect to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, it can't connect to both simultaneously.
Q. Why are the scale’s settings different than my previous settings?
A. The settings are globally applied. If someone else changed the settings, then the new settings will apply to all profiles.
